Tamed Fire – The SUMI II Organic Gradient The SUMI II earrings are the second installment of our flagship line, deeply inspired by Japanese aesthetics and minimalism. With this model, we decided to halt the creation process exactly halfway. The result is a stunning, seamless contrast (an ombre gradient): the lower part of the earring radiates the warm, natural hue of exotic Sapeli wood, while the upper section is enveloped in a deep, charcoal black. The central, geometric cutout perfectly accentuates this boundary between the two elements.
Tradition Hidden in the Details Every single pair of SUMI II earrings is crafted by hand in our workshop. The Sapeli wood is precisely cut and meticulously sanded multiple times to achieve flawless smoothness. Then, using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban technique, a controlled flame gives the earrings their unique texture and coloration. Because the charring process depends entirely on the natural grain of the wood, no two pairs are ever identical – by choosing SUMI II, you receive a truly one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
We protect the jewelry with a completely safe, satin-finish lacquer that seals the wood structure and leaves the earrings delightfully smooth to the touch. Despite their bold dimensions, they are incredibly lightweight (a single earring weighs just 4.35g), ensuring ultimate comfort for all-day wear.
